About

Who is Nathan Tyree?

Nathan Tyree is an underground writer. He’s insane and that is all there is to it. He is the author of the cult classic novella Mr. Overby is Falling, as well as King of Citizen Bands, How to Make Love Like a Zombie, and Stygiophilia (coming soon). His fiction and poetry have appeared in over 100 magazines, e-zines, journals and anthologies. He is the United States editor of Bookmunch (www.bookmunch.co.uk) and one of many editors at Magazine of the Dead (magazineofthedead.blogspot.com). Previously he was a columnist for an alternative newspaper called Edge3D and has served as editor of a number of ill-fated e-zines. His work tends toward the brutal. He lives in Kansas and is in constant fear.

His story Notes Toward a Unified Philosophy received an editor nomination for the Story South Million Writers Award. The Previous year Cigarette Burns received several reader nominations for that same award from Story South. His story Chanel Surfing was the winner of the first annual MicroHorror Halloween Writing contest.

He is also Solicitor General for Thirst for Fire.

He is part of Twitter 666 where he tweets as a Lionel Ritchie Cd.

Nathan Tyree wants to conquer the world. To that end, check out his various blogs, articles, reviews, editing, pimping and vague musings at:

  1. i was appreciating your comments on Sam’s thread about audience, the “honest writing” comment especially. i immediately thought of Addonizio’s line, “How many days are left of my life, how much does it matter if I manage to say one true thing about it–how often have I tried…”

then, i realized i agreed with another comment you made about your writing process, and thought, “shit. this means i actually have to check out his blog now.”

    cheers.
